Skunkworks Studio is a full-service recording and band rehearsal studio housed inside Calgary's iconic Skunkworks Distillery — a building with deep musical roots long before the moonshine flowed. The studio's history is steeped in creative energy, and that legacy lives on in its vintage shoebox design, warm acoustics, and undeniable mojo that artists say shines through on every track. The professionally built three-room studio includes a live recording room, a separate vocal and acoustic booth, and a fully equipped control room offering 16-track recording. Recording sessions at $85/hour include an audio engineer, making Skunkworks one of the most affordable and accessible professional recording studios in Calgary. It is also Calgary's only self-serve recording studio, meaning artists can work at their own pace without watching the clock. Beyond recording, Skunkworks offers band rehearsal space with a full backline for artists gearing up for shows or dialing in new material. Podcast recording is also available. The studio sits steps away from Skunkworks Distillery's live music events, creating a unique creative ecosystem for musicians at every level — from solo artists recording wedding songs to touring bands looking for a comfortable, professional Calgary base.
